How to Communicate!

My concept is based on the idea of user control and interpretation, and I am going to create a pamphlet that contains a fold out poster that is two sided. The design student that this educational pamphlet is going to will have the option of putting either side of the poster next to their studio space for reference.

One side will consist of a very analytical representation of the diagram and the other side will consist of an actual example of communication (sally wants to tell billy that she loves him kind of thing).

I have decided that I would like to keep the color palette that I have already implied, and I want to go with the them of "vintage how to pamphlet". I want the pamphlet to be quite literal, but slightly ridiculous and fun! The old how-to's always seemed to make refrigerators exciting, so lets make communication diagrams fun! It might be too much, but I want lots of exclamation marks and smiley people. The example below would contain a hand rendered title...not bodoni.

I am in love with this typeface, and I want to look into more hand-rendered type for this project. (mainly titles, body copy would be digital text) I wouldn't mind doing some illustration as well when it comes to the actual imagery.

This is an interesting way to add some fun to your previous, very informative and effectively organized diagram.

You might want to pump up the volume on the color palette just a hair... One color that really pops would be cool. Kind of like the pink numbers on the refrigerator diagram.
